Cord Laos: Small Grants Officer (Lao National only) | Vientiane



Position:                     Small Grants Officer (Lao National only)
Duty-station:                     Vientiane, Lao PDR + occasional travel to provinces, Laos
Start date:                         April/May 2019
Duration:                           Full-time; fixed duration (2 years) with possibility to extend

Main responsibilities include:
·     Build the relationship and provide grantees with capacity development coaching and mentoring during sub grants’ preparation, management, implementation and reporting
·     Support the identification of capacity needs and development of capacity development plans, including with relevant capacity service providers
·     Ensure enabling and positive learning environment and supporting atmosphere among partners
·     Support the development of monitoring tools and support data collection and analysis
·     Assist grantees in learning and knowledge documentation, production, exchange and sharing
·     Support the documentation of impacts of the small projects
·     Actively participate and contribute to other project activities (e.g. report writing, promotion of programme related resources, etc.)

Key qualifications:
·     At least 3 years’ experience in small grant management or project management
·     Proven experience in the field of capacity development
·     Knowledge and understanding of the civil society context and experience working with the Lao civil society sector
·     Experience of managing relationships with multiple stakeholders and working in a multicultural environment
·     Experience of M&E processes and tools
·     Good capacity development/mentoring skills and ability to support others develop their own capacity/skills, facilitate collaboration and peer learning
·     Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing (mandatory)
·     Excellent computer skills (Microsoft office) and report writing skills (in both Lao and English)
·     Sensitivity to issues affecting social and economic inclusion/exclusion (gender, ethnicity, HIV status, LGBTI, disability)
·     Professional and honest worker, proactive, flexible, adaptable and able to work independently
·     Excellent communication and well-developed interpersonal skills

What we offer:
A position in a committed team, salary range is from US$1200- US$1550 depending on experience, plus additional benefits e.g. medical insurance and pension, and occasional travels to provinces.
